Cuevr or Google Docs and Slides: which one should you choose for your sales proposals?

Google Docs and Slides write and share all your documents, as a team and in real time. Cuevr is proposal software: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed. We compare one use only, the proposal sent to a prospect, with dated sources.

The verdict

Choose based on how you sell.

Choose Google Docs or Slides if…

Writing as a team, for all your documents

  • You send few proposals, and your team already works in Google Workspace.
  • You want to write as a team in real time, with comments and suggestions, including with your client.
  • You want one tool for all your documents, proposals included, free with a Google account or included in your Workspace subscription.
  • An e-signature on a PDF is enough for you (Business Standard and above).

Less suited if

you want to qualify the deal before writing, know before sending whether the proposal convinces, or know which section the prospect reads and when to follow up.

Choose Cuevr if…

The proposal that gets signed, from deal to signature

  • Every proposal is written for one client and has to convince several decision makers.
  • You want to qualify the deal, then have Cuevr AI write from the qualification, your knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods.
  • You want to know before sending whether it convinces, then who reads it, which section, and when to follow up.
  • You also answer RFPs and tenders, public and private.

Less suited if

your client has to comment on or edit the proposal with you, if you need a native CRM connector (Cuevr connects through its API and webhooks), or one tool for all your non-sales documents.

If you remember one thing

Google Docs excels at writing as a team; Cuevr starts from the deal, scores the proposal before sending and tracks its readers.

In short

Definition

Quick answer

Google Docs and Slides are the right choice to write all the company’s documents as a team, proposals included, when you send few of them and tracking does not matter. Cuevr is the right choice to get proposals written for each client signed: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed; it also answers RFPs and tenders. The two work side by side: Docs for everything else, Cuevr for proposals.

What Google Docs and Slides do really well

Google Docs and Slides are online office tools, built for writing and sharing as a team. For a small team that sends a few proposals a month, they are a solid starting point.

  • Writing as a team

Several people work on the same document at the same time, with revision history [6]; comments, assigned tasks [7] and suggestion mode [8]; approvals with a locked file in Enterprise [15].

  • Share with a link

Invitation or link, with the viewer, commenter or editor role [9]: your client can comment on the proposal.

  • The price

Available with a simple Google account, with no Workspace plan [6]; in Google Workspace, from €6.80 (Business Starter) to €13.60 (Business Standard) per user per month billed annually, taxes not stated [5] [4].

  • Gemini, from Business Standard

[4]. In Docs, it writes a first draft from a prompt and the Drive, Gmail or Chat files you point to, following the format or style of a reference document [10]; in Slides, it generates slides and images [11]. Available in English, Spanish and French [12].

  • Built-in signature

From a Google Doc or a PDF in Drive: up to 10 signers, automatic reminders, contract templates, audit trail at the end of the PDF; from Business Standard [1] [4].

  • Beyond sales

The same tool works for every document, and opens Word files without conversion [6].

Three moments where they differ

The difference is not a feature list: it is the moment of the sale each tool takes care of.

  1. Before sending: know what the client wants

Google Docs starts from a page or a template. Nothing in it structures deal discovery: Gemini reads the files you point it to, such as meeting notes, but does not tell you what is missing [10]. Cuevr starts from the deal. The qualification structures the context, needs, project and decision process; Cuevr reads your notes, files and transcripts, shows where each piece of information comes from, flags what is missing and prepares the script for the next meeting. Below the organization’s target score, it warns you before writing. You write about a deal you understand.

    From the comparison table

    Start from the client’s stakes

    Google Docs and Slides
Gemini reads the files you point to, meeting notes included; no discovery framework, no gaps flagged · Higher plan (Business Standard)
    Cuevr
4-section framework, import of notes, transcripts and dictation, score, gaps, meeting scriptIncluded
  2. When writing: a proposal written for this client

In Docs, Gemini writes from your Drive, Gmail or Chat files, in the format of an existing document (Business Standard) [10], with no qualified deal or approved offer content; style review improves the form [4], and in Enterprise, Drive approvals have the document approved before sending [15]. Nothing tells you whether it convinces. Cuevr AI writes from three sources worked together: the deal qualification, the company’s knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods. Cuevr AI suggests an outline linked to the client’s stakes, then writes the sections you keep, in an editor with your branding. Before sending, Cuevr scores the proposal out of 100 (personalization, persuasion, professionalism) and places its recommendations in the text: one click applies them. A quality proposal used to take 2 hours; with Cuevr, under 15 minutes.

  3. After sending: know who reads, and get it signed

The Docs activity dashboard shows who opened the document and when, for a work account; an external reader only appears if their organization allows it, and nothing measures reading time or flags when to follow up [13] [14]. To sign, Docs generates a separate PDF; the help center describes no signer verification [1]. For the Workspace Individual plan, the feature’s terms (modified on April 30, 2024) ask the sender to “confirm the recipient’s identity and email address” [19]. Cuevr publishes the proposal as a web page with your branding: each invited reader appears by name, with their reading time section by section and their heat. The dashboard tells you which proposals need action today. The prospect signs where they read: they verify their email with a six-digit code, and acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version.

Each row asks both tools the same question, with the same sub-fields, then the access: Included, Higher plan (a plan above the entry plan), Add-on (paid on top of the subscription), Beta. “No”: the tool does not offer it; “not documented”: absent from its documentation. For Google, “Included” applies from Business Starter.

On our grid

The eleven criteria of our comparison, scored 0, 1, 3 or 5 on the same levels for everyone. Google Docs and Slides is not proposal software: it has its profile, without an average. It does better than Cuevr on “Build the proposal as a team”. Cuevr does better on the other ten criteria.

How we score: the grid measures what a tool brings a sales team to sign more deals with its proposals, not its compliance or its price. Each criterion is scored from observable facts, written down before scoring, the same for Google and for Cuevr. We score the best published offer, add-ons included.

Profile, no average: the average is shown only for proposal software.

« We won our first deal through Cuevr. The tool truly made the difference in helping us stand out from competitors who stayed surface-level. The format was a hit with the client too: "easy to pick up and share." »

Before you switch tools

Can Cuevr and Google Docs be used together?

Yes. Google Docs and Slides keep your internal documents, meeting reports and contracts; Cuevr takes the sales proposal, from deal qualification to signature. Your meeting notes written in Docs, downloaded as PDF, can be imported into Cuevr’s qualification.

Can my client comment on the proposal, as in Docs?

No. In Cuevr, the prospect reads the proposal online, forwards it to colleagues (by invitation, each one gets their own named link), signs it or declines it with a reason; they do not comment on it. If your client has to rewrite the document with you, Docs is the right tool.

Does Cuevr have e-signature?

Yes, included and unlimited: a simple electronic signature (SES), legally binding. The signer verifies their email with a six-digit code, and each acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version. It is neither advanced nor qualified. In the European Union, it cannot be denied legal effect as evidence solely because it is electronic (eIDAS Regulation, Article 25); in the United States, the ESIGN Act also recognizes it.

What happens to my Google Docs templates?

The copy that works (offer, method, case studies) goes into Cuevr’s knowledge base: Docs downloads your documents in the format of your choice, PDF included [16], and Cuevr reads them. Cuevr AI uses them to write each proposal. Your recurring structures become Cuevr templates, shared with the team after approval.

Where is my data hosted?

Cuevr is hosted in France. Data is kept in the European Union.

How much does Cuevr cost?

€49 excl. VAT per user per month billed annually, €69 excl. VAT billed monthly, one plan, every feature, from one seat. Trial: 14 days, no credit card (5 proposals created, 1 sent).

Method and sources

We compare the two tools on one use only, the proposal sent to a prospect, keeping the rows where Google Docs and Slides does as well or better. Each row answers on the same scale for both tools: never a tick against a nuance. The facts about Google come from its help centers, its pricing page and its terms, read on the date shown; a feature seen only in marketing does not count. The facts about Cuevr come from our offer and documentation. The scores apply our editorial grid, the same for every tool; since Google Docs and Slides is not proposal software, its profile is shown without an average. We make Cuevr. A vendor can report an error to us: we correct it within 5 business days.
