The verdict

Choose based on what you get signed.

Choose Docusign if…

Get all your agreements signed, at every level

  • You get contracts and documents written elsewhere signed at volume.
  • A deed requires an advanced or qualified signature, or identity verification of the signer.
  • You need web forms, bulk send or payment at signing.
  • You want a Salesforce, Dynamics or NetSuite connector and recognized security certifications (custom-priced plans).

Less suited if

you want to write the proposal itself, know before sending whether it convinces, or see who reads it, section by section, and when to follow up.

Choose Cuevr if…

The proposal that gets signed, from deal to signature

  • It is the proposal, written for one client, that has to convince before the signature.
  • You want to qualify the deal, then have Cuevr AI write from the qualification, your knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods.
  • You want to know before sending whether it convinces, then who reads it, which section, and when to follow up.
  • You want the signature on the page being read, unlimited, with a signer verified by email code and an evidence file.

Less suited if

a deed requires an advanced or qualified signature, if you need a native CRM connector (Cuevr connects through its API and webhooks) or online payment.

If you remember one thing

Docusign gets any document signed, up to a qualified signature; Cuevr writes the proposal for this client, then gets it signed.

In short

Definition

Quick answer

Docusign is the right choice to get agreements written elsewhere signed at volume, up to advanced or qualified signatures. Cuevr is the right choice to get proposals signed: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed on the page being read; it also answers RFPs and tenders. The two work well side by side: Cuevr for the proposal, Docusign for the contracts that require a higher level of signature.

What Docusign does really well

Docusign is an established e-signature and agreement management tool. For an organization that signs a lot, it is a solid choice.

  • Three levels of signature

Simple electronic signature in every plan; advanced signature (AES) included in the enhanced plans, on request elsewhere; qualified signature (QES) as an add-on, from €10 per recipient [1].

  • Signer verification

Access code in every plan [1], which the sender sets (or has generated) and passes on to the recipient, who enters it before opening the document [4]; SMS and phone on request; identity verification from €2.35 per verification, five offered once in Standard and Business Pro [1].

  • Beyond sales

Web forms, PowerForms and bulk send in Business Pro; in-person signing and delegation from Standard [1].

  • Payment at signing

Payment collection in the Business Pro plan [1].

  • The ecosystem

API and over 1,000 partner integrations from Standard; Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and NetSuite in the custom-priced plans [1]. Signing in 44 languages, sending interface in 14, including French, according to the vendor [3].

  • Compliance

Certificate of completion, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II for every plan, according to its pricing page; data residency in the custom-priced plans [1].

Three moments where they differ

Docusign starts when the document exists; Cuevr starts at the deal.

  1. Before sending: know what the client wants

Docusign steps in once the document is written: reusable templates, and prefilled fields from Standard [1]. It documents nothing to prepare discovery. Cuevr starts from the deal. The qualification structures the context, needs, project and decision process; Cuevr reads your notes, files and transcripts, shows where each piece of information comes from, flags what is missing and prepares the script for the next meeting. Below the organization’s target score, it warns you before writing. You write about a deal you understand.

  2. When writing: a proposal written for this client

Docusign does not write the proposal: you write it in Word, PowerPoint or Google Docs, then upload it to an envelope. Its IAM plans add AI-assisted agreement template creation and data extraction [2], designed for contracts. Cuevr AI writes from three sources worked together: the deal qualification, the company’s knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods. Cuevr AI suggests an outline linked to the client’s stakes, then writes the sections you keep, in an editor with your branding. Before sending, Cuevr scores the proposal out of 100 (personalization, persuasion, professionalism) and places its recommendations in the text: one click applies them. A quality proposal used to take 2 hours; with Cuevr, under 15 minutes.

  3. After sending: know who reads, and get it signed

Docusign tracks the envelope: status, real-time audit trail, notifications and reminders to the recipient [1]; it documents no reading time per page or per section. Each envelope sent counts against the plan, signed or not [1]. Cuevr publishes the proposal as a web page with your branding: each invited reader appears by name, with their reading time section by section and their heat. The dashboard tells you which proposals need action today. The prospect signs where they read: a six-digit code goes automatically to their email, and acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version. No limit on signatures.

On our grid

Docusign is not proposal software: like every tool of this kind, it has a profile, without an average. We apply the same eleven criteria to show what it covers of a proposal-led sale. Docusign is tied with Cuevr on “Get signed without friction or dispute”, “Price and collect payment in the proposal” and “The deal connected to your CRM”. Cuevr does better on the other eight criteria, which concern the proposal itself, work that Docusign leaves to other tools. The grid does not score the signature level: Docusign goes further than Cuevr with AES and QES, as the comparison table shows.

How we score: the grid measures what a tool brings a sales team to sign more deals with its proposals, not its compliance or its price. Each criterion is scored from observable facts, written down before scoring, the same for Docusign and for Cuevr. We score the best published offer, add-ons included.

Before you switch tools

Can Cuevr and Docusign be used together?

Yes. Cuevr takes the proposal, from deal qualification to acceptance. Docusign keeps the contracts that require an advanced or qualified signature, the contracts and documents to sign at volume, and forms. The “Without Cuevr e-signature” option replaces the signature button with a link to your Docusign process.

Does Cuevr have e-signature?

Yes, included and unlimited: a simple electronic signature (SES), legally binding. The signer verifies their email with a six-digit code, and each acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version. It is neither advanced nor qualified. In the European Union, it cannot be denied legal effect as evidence solely because it is electronic (eIDAS Regulation, Article 25); in the United States, the ESIGN Act also recognizes it.

When should you keep an advanced or qualified signature?

When the document or your client’s purchasing process requires it. Cuevr provides a simple electronic signature; Docusign offers AES on quote and QES as an add-on. Cuevr then has the proposal read, and sends the prospect to your Docusign process.

How many signatures does Cuevr allow?

No limit on the paid plan. At Docusign, every envelope sent counts, signed or not: 100 per user per year on annual Standard and Business Pro, 10 a month on monthly billing; unlimited from the web app from IAM Standard.

What happens to my Word or PowerPoint proposals?

The copy that works (offer, method, case studies) goes into Cuevr’s knowledge base, which reads your files. Cuevr AI uses it to write each proposal. Your recurring structures become Cuevr templates, shared with the team after approval.

Where is my data hosted?

Cuevr is hosted in France. Data is kept in the European Union.

How much does Cuevr cost?

€49 excl. VAT per user per month billed annually, €69 excl. VAT billed monthly, one plan, every feature, from one seat. Trial: 14 days, no credit card (5 proposals created, 1 sent).

We compare the two tools on the moments of a proposal-led sale, rows in Docusign’s favor included. Each row answers on the same scale for both tools: never a tick against a nuance. The facts about Docusign come from its pricing page, its help center and its product pages, read on the date shown; a feature seen only in marketing does not count. The facts about Cuevr come from our offer and documentation. The scores apply our editorial grid, the same for every tool; Docusign, a signature tool, has a profile without an average. We make Cuevr.
