Cuevr or Canva: which one should you choose for your sales proposals?

Canva is a graphic design tool: templates, brand kit, creative AI, teamwork. Cuevr is proposal software: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed. We compare them for one specific use: the proposal sent to a prospect.

The verdict

Choose based on what your proposal has to do.

Choose Canva if…

The proposal as a graphic object

  • Your proposal is first and foremost a design piece: creative book, portfolio, agency presentation where layout makes the difference.
  • You want total graphic freedom, ready-to-use templates and elements, and Canva AI to generate an on-brand layout from your content.
  • All your communication already lives in Canva, with comments and approval requests between colleagues.
  • You send few proposals, and neither per-reader tracking nor the client’s signature matters.

Less suited if

you need to qualify the deal before writing, know who reads which section and when to follow up, or have the client sign in the proposal.

Choose Cuevr if…

The proposal that gets signed, from deal to signature

  • Every proposal is written for one client and has to convince several decision makers.
  • You want Cuevr AI to write from the deal qualification, your knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods, in an on-brand layout that builds itself.
  • You want to know before sending whether it convinces, then who reads it, which section, and when to follow up.
  • The prospect has to sign where they read, and you also answer RFPs and tenders, public and private.

Less suited if

your proposal is a free-form graphic creation, if you need comments and approval in the document, or if you also produce visuals, posts and printed materials.

If you remember one thing

Canva excels at shaping the proposal; Cuevr qualifies the deal, tracks every reader and gets it signed.

In short

Definition

Quick answer

Canva is the right choice when the proposal is mostly a graphic object, designed as a team in the tool already used for all your communication. Cuevr is the right choice when the proposal has to get signed: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed; it also answers RFPs and tenders. The two work well side by side: your Canva visuals go into the Cuevr proposal as images.

What Canva does really well

Canva is a graphic design tool for everyone, not sales software. To give a proposal the look of a brand piece, it goes further than Cuevr, and it serves many purposes beyond the proposal.

  • Design without a designer

Free visual editor, templates, presentations and documents; export to standard PDF, print PDF (300 dpi, bleed, crop marks, CMYK) and PPTX for presentations [11].

  • A brand kept by the whole team

A brand kit (logos, colors, fonts) in the paid plans; controls that limit members to approved colors and fonts [6]; Brand Assist, which flags deviations from the brand and suggests an automatic fix (Teams and Enterprise) [7].

  • A creative AI with your branding

Canva AI generates a design from a prompt, a brand kit, a brand template and, if needed, a data file, with an outline to review before generation [8]. Its connectors, presented as a preview, read your content: Gmail emails, Notion pages, Zoom transcripts, HubSpot deals, according to the vendor [17]; the developer page [18] mentions neither Zoom nor HubSpot.

  • Working as a team

Several people edit the same design at the same time [12]; comments on an element or a page, mentions and comment assignment [4]; approval request with a due date, multiple approvers in Enterprise [5].

  • Measured sharing

Public view link, several links per design, and for each one the average time and time spent per page, on some paid plans [1] [2].

  • All the rest of your communication

The same tool and the same brand serve for visuals, presentations and print [11].

Three moments where they differ

The difference is not a feature list: it is the moment of the sale each tool takes care of. Canva takes the form; Cuevr takes the deal, from discovery to signature.

  1. Before sending: know what the client wants

Canva starts from a template or a prompt. Its connectors, in preview, give Canva AI your Zoom transcripts, Notion pages, emails and HubSpot deals [17]; its help center describes neither a discovery framework nor any flagging of what is missing. Cuevr qualifies the deal. The qualification structures the context, needs, project and decision process; Cuevr reads your notes, files and transcripts, shows where each piece of information comes from, flags what is missing and prepares the script for the next meeting. Below the organization’s target score, it warns you before writing. You write about a deal you understand.

    From the comparison table

    Start from the client’s stakes

    Canva
Canva AI connectors (preview): Zoom transcripts, Notion, Gmail; no framework, no gaps flagged
    Cuevr
4-section framework, import of notes, transcripts and dictation, score, gaps, meeting scriptIncluded
  2. When writing: a proposal written for this client

Canva AI composes an on-brand design and writes from your files and the content read by its connectors (in preview), with no qualified deal or approved offer content [8] [17]; the approval request has a colleague review the document before it is published [5]. Cuevr AI writes from three sources worked together: the deal qualification, the company’s knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods. Cuevr AI suggests an outline linked to the client’s stakes, then writes the sections you keep, in an on-brand layout taken from your website. Before sending, Cuevr scores the proposal out of 100 (personalization, persuasion, professionalism) and places its recommendations in the text: one click applies them. A quality proposal used to take 2 hours; with Cuevr, under 15 minutes.

  3. After sending: know who reads, and get it signed

Canva shares the design through a public view link and measures visitors, visits, average time and time per page; names only appear for members of your Canva team, a public link gives totals, and Canva recommends one link per channel or per person to know where visits come from [1] [2]. Its help center describes no follow-up alert. As for signing, you add your own to the design; no signature request to the client is documented [3]. Cuevr publishes the proposal as a web page with your branding: each invited reader appears by name, with their reading time section by section and their heat. The dashboard tells you which proposals need action today. The prospect signs where they read, after a code sent to their email, and acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version.

On our grid

The eleven criteria of our comparison, scored 0, 1, 3 or 5 on the same levels for everyone. Canva does better than Cuevr on “Build the proposal as a team”. They are tied on “A beautiful, on-brand proposal, with no layout work” (5 each) and “The deal connected to your CRM” (3 each). Cuevr does better on the other eight criteria. Canva is not proposal software: it has its profile, without an average.

How we score: the grid measures what a tool brings a sales team to sign more deals with its proposals, not its compliance or its price. Each criterion is scored from observable facts, written down before scoring, the same for Canva and for Cuevr. We score the best published offer, add-ons included.

No average: the grid only shows it for proposal software.

Before you switch tools

Can Cuevr and Canva be used together?

Yes, and it is often the right choice. Canva keeps what it does best: visuals, posts, printed materials, brand presentations. Cuevr takes the sales proposal, from deal qualification to signature. Visuals created in Canva can be imported into the Cuevr proposal as images, up to 5 MB each.

Does Cuevr give as much graphic freedom as Canva?

No, and that is not its purpose. Cuevr composes the proposal from sections, layouts and sales blocks, and applies your branding to each one: colors, fonts, logo, cover, four variants. You spend no time on layout. For free-form graphic creation, Canva remains the right tool.

Does Cuevr have e-signature?

Yes, included and unlimited: a simple electronic signature (SES), legally binding. The signer verifies their email with a six-digit code, and each acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version. It is neither advanced nor qualified. In the European Union, it cannot be denied legal effect as evidence solely because it is electronic (eIDAS Regulation, Article 25); in the United States, the ESIGN Act also recognizes it.

What happens to my Canva templates?

The copy in them that works (offer, method, case studies) goes into Cuevr’s knowledge base: export your Canva proposals as PDF, Cuevr reads them and Cuevr AI uses them to write. Your recurring structures become Cuevr templates, shared with the team after approval.

Where is my data hosted?

Cuevr is hosted in France. Data is kept in the European Union.

How much does Cuevr cost?

€49 excl. VAT per user per month billed annually, €69 excl. VAT billed monthly, one plan, every feature, from one seat. Trial: 14 days, no credit card (5 proposals created, 1 sent).

Method and sources

We compare the two tools for the same use, the proposal sent to a prospect, across the moments of a sale, keeping the rows where Canva does as well or better. Each row answers on the same scale for both tools: never a tick against a nuance. The facts about Canva come from its help center and its developer documentation, read on the date shown; a feature seen only in marketing does not count. The facts about Cuevr come from our offer and documentation. The scores apply our editorial grid, the same for every tool; Canva, a graphic design tool, has its profile without an average. We make Cuevr. A vendor can report an error to us: we correct it within 5 business days.
