Cuevr or PowerPoint: which one should you choose for your sales proposals?

PowerPoint is for building and presenting proposals as a file. Cuevr is proposal software: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed. We compare them on one use only: the proposal sent to a prospect.

Criterion by criterion

The verdict

Choose based on how your proposal is received.

Choose PowerPoint if…

The proposal you present in a meeting

  • Your proposal is mostly projected and talked through live, with your notes in front of you.
  • You want to place every element of every slide freely, and link your charts to an Excel workbook.
  • Your team already has Microsoft 365 and co-writes in the same file, with comments.
  • Your client expects a PowerPoint file they can edit.

Less suited if

the proposal is read without you by several decision makers, if you want to know who reads it and when to follow up, or get it signed without a separate service.

Choose Cuevr if…

The proposal that gets signed, from deal to signature

  • Your proposal is read on its own, after the meeting, by several decision makers.
  • You want to qualify the deal, then have Cuevr AI write from the qualification, your knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods.
  • You want to know before sending whether it convinces, then who reads it, which section, and when to follow up.
  • You want it signed where it is read, and to answer RFPs and tenders too, public and private.

Less suited if

your proposal is mostly presented in meetings, if you want free layout element by element, comments in the proposal, or to hand over an editable file.

If you remember one thing

PowerPoint serves the proposal you present in a meeting; Cuevr, the one your decision makers read on their own and sign.

In short

Definition

Quick answer

PowerPoint is the right choice for a proposal you present in a meeting, laid out by hand, co-written as a team and handed over as a file. Cuevr is the right choice for a proposal the client reads without you: it qualifies the deal, writes with Cuevr AI, scores the proposal before sending, tracks every reader and gets it signed; it also answers RFPs and tenders. The two work side by side: PowerPoint for the meeting, Cuevr for the proposal that follows.

What PowerPoint does really well

PowerPoint is for building and presenting proposals as a file. For a proposal defended in a meeting, it remains a solid standard.

  • Freedom of layout

Every element goes where you want it; Designer suggests layouts for a slide’s images, charts and tables [11]. Charts can be linked to an Excel workbook and updated from the source [12].

  • Presenting in a meeting

In Presenter view, you see your notes and the next slide, zoom and annotate, while the audience only sees the slide [9]. To rehearse, Speaker Coach comments on pace and filler words, in preview and in English only for now [10].

  • Working as a team

Once the file is shared, several people edit it at the same time, each one marked by a colored flag; comments and @mentions, edit or read rights [8].

  • Copilot, as a paid add-on

Copilot creates a presentation from a prompt, refining an outline before generating the slides [2], or from a company Word document or PDF, one file at a time [1], images and speaker notes included [3]; with a work license, it uses the organization’s template [1]. It therefore writes from your files, with no qualified deal or approved offer content. Copilot Business is added to Microsoft 365 Business plans, with an annual commitment [4].

  • The ecosystem

Interface in English and Spanish, among others [14]; data stored and processed in the European Union and EFTA for Microsoft 365 customers enrolled there, with documented limited transfers [15].

Three moments where they differ

PowerPoint does very well what it is built for: laying out and presenting. A proposal also lives before and after the meeting. Here are those moments, and what Cuevr adds to them.

  1. Before sending: know what the client wants

PowerPoint documents no discovery preparation and no flagging of what is missing before you build the slides. Cuevr starts from the deal. The qualification structures the context, needs, project and decision process; Cuevr reads your notes, transcripts and meeting materials, including a PPTX, shows where each piece of information comes from, flags what is missing and prepares the script for the next meeting. Below the organization’s target score, it warns you before writing. You write about a deal you understand.

  2. When writing: a proposal written for this client

In PowerPoint, a proposal is built slide by slide, from a template. Copilot, as an add-on, creates the presentation from a prompt or from one of your files [1] [2], with no qualified deal or approved offer content; it documents no sales review. Cuevr AI writes from three sources worked together: the deal qualification, the company’s knowledge base and specialized agents designed on the best sales methods. Cuevr AI suggests an outline linked to the client’s stakes, then writes the sections you keep; your branding applies itself, with no layout work. Before sending, Cuevr scores the proposal out of 100 (personalization, persuasion, professionalism) and places its recommendations in the text: one click applies them. A quality proposal used to take 2 hours; with Cuevr, under 15 minutes.

  3. After the meeting: know who reads, and get it signed

After the meeting, the file goes out as an attachment or a sharing link. The OneDrive or SharePoint file card shows the names of the people who viewed it and the number of views [18]; it tells you neither how long, nor which part held attention, and how an external reader appears is not documented. For signing, SharePoint eSignature is a separate service, enabled by an administrator and billed per request, that has a PDF or Word document signed: the presentation is first exported to PDF [5] [6] [7]. Cuevr publishes the proposal as a web page with your branding: each invited reader appears by name, with their reading time section by section and their heat. The dashboard tells you which proposals need action today. The prospect signs where they read: they verify their email with a six-digit code, and acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version. You follow up with a concrete reason.

On our grid

The eleven criteria of our comparison, scored 0, 1, 3 or 5 on the same levels for everyone. PowerPoint is not proposal software: as with every general-purpose tool, we give its profile, without an average. PowerPoint does better than Cuevr on “Build the proposal as a team”. Cuevr does better on the other ten criteria.

How we score: the grid measures what a tool brings a sales team to sign more deals with its proposals, not its compliance or its price. Each criterion is scored from observable facts, written down before scoring, the same for PowerPoint and for Cuevr. We score the best published offer, add-ons included.

« We won our first deal through Cuevr. The tool truly made the difference in helping us stand out from competitors who stayed surface-level. The format was a hit with the client too: "easy to pick up and share." »

Before you switch tools

Can Cuevr and PowerPoint be used together?

Yes, they serve different moments. PowerPoint keeps the meeting: the projected deck, your notes, your Excel charts. Cuevr takes the proposal the client then rereads with their decision makers: deal qualification, writing with Cuevr AI, review before sending, tracking of every reader and signature on the page.

What happens to my PowerPoint presentations?

They remain yours. A deck presented to the client can be imported into the deal qualification (PPTX file up to 10 MB): Cuevr extracts the information and shows its source. The copy that works (offer, method, case studies) goes into the knowledge base, and your recurring structures become Cuevr templates, shared with the team after approval.

Does Cuevr have e-signature?

Yes, included and unlimited: a simple electronic signature (SES), legally binding. The signer verifies their email with a six-digit code, and each acceptance creates an evidence file linked to the signed version. It is neither advanced nor qualified. In the European Union, it cannot be denied legal effect as evidence solely because it is electronic (eIDAS Regulation, Article 25); in the United States, the ESIGN Act also recognizes it.

My team knows PowerPoint inside out. What does Cuevr change for them?

Layout stops being their job: the branding applies itself, and the sales rep spends their time on the deal. Cuevr AI suggests the outline and writes, but everything can also be written and edited by hand; simultaneous editing lets several people work in the same proposal.

Where is my data hosted?

Cuevr is hosted in France. Data is kept in the European Union.

How much does Cuevr cost?

€49 excl. VAT per user per month billed annually, €69 excl. VAT billed monthly, one plan, every feature, from one seat. Trial: 14 days, no credit card (5 proposals created, 1 sent).

Method and sources

We compare the two tools on one use only, the proposal sent to a prospect, moment by moment, keeping the rows where PowerPoint does as well or better. Each row answers on the same scale for both tools: never a tick against a nuance. The facts about PowerPoint, Copilot and SharePoint eSignature come from Microsoft’s help and documentation, read on the date shown; a feature seen only in marketing does not count, a feature in preview is labeled preview. The facts about Cuevr come from our offer and documentation. The scores apply our editorial grid, the same for every tool. We make Cuevr. A vendor can report an error to us: we correct it within 5 business days.
