Collect a decision and view the proof
Your prospect can accept or decline the proposal online, and Cuevr keeps the evidence of the acceptance with an archived PDF. This chapter covers the path, the evidence file and its limits.

Choose the decision path
In the Signature stage, choose Through Cuevr or No Cuevr e-signature. With Through Cuevr, your client signs online and you keep the proof; choose the button in your identity that they will see (Primary or Secondary). With No Cuevr e-signature, your client’s button can email you, call you, Open your signing link to your usual tool, or not appear at all (No button).
Check the What your client will see preview: the sender, the button and the consent text in the language of the proposal. The signature mode is chosen before the first publication.
With Through Cuevr, prefer a Password protected or Invite only link: with a Public link, anyone who has the link can sign. Cuevr reminds you of this in the Share panel.
Understand the simple electronic signature (SES)
The Through Cuevr path implements an SES with email verification and an evidence file. SES refers to the simple level, distinct from the advanced and qualified levels. “eIDAS level 1” is not a certification label. An electronic signature is a legal concept; it does not always require a digital signature with a cryptographic certificate. European Commission, eSignature FAQ.
Legal scope. Article 25(1) of eIDAS prohibits rejecting a signature solely because it is in electronic form or is not qualified. This does not guarantee that the evidence will be sufficient in every dispute. Paragraph 2 gives a qualified signature the same effect as a handwritten signature; this equivalence does not automatically apply to an SES. The requirements specific to certain acts still apply, in accordance with Article 2(3). eIDAS Regulation, Articles 2 and 25.
In France. Article 1366 makes the evidential value of an electronic document conditional on identifying its author and preserving its integrity. Article 1367 requires a reliable identification process linked to the document and the expression of consent. French Civil Code, Article 1366 and Article 1367. The presumption of reliability set out in the decree of 28 September 2017 applies to qualified signatures; an SES must be supported by the evidence gathered along the path. Decree No. 2017-1416, Article 1.
If the document or the buying process requires an advanced or qualified signature, choose a solution that meets this requirement; the Cuevr path provides a simple electronic signature. The No Cuevr e-signature option lets you direct the prospect to your own signing process.

The prospect’s path through Cuevr
- The prospect clicks Accept this proposal.
- They enter their Full name, Job title, Company and Email. For an invitee, the address is prefilled.
- If they wish, they add a mark in Your signature, by choosing Type or Draw, then accept the consent; See details lists the data kept.
- They verify their email with a six-digit code, unless they have just verified that same address to open their invitation. Before signing, they read What you are signing again: the options selected and the value of the contract.
- They choose Sign the proposal. Cuevr checks that the version signed is the one they read, locks the proposal and creates the evidence file.
- The page confirms the acceptance, and the prospect receives by email a personal link to their signed file.
The signature code is valid for 10 minutes; the prospect can request a new one. The access code required before an invitation is valid for 15 minutes. A proposal cannot carry two active acceptances, and a member of your organization cannot sign your proposal.
The optional handwritten mark is a visual element: it appears on the signed file, but is not the proof. The SES relies on consent, email verification and recording the accepted version with its evidence. The email code proves access to the mailbox, without verifying civil identity or the authority to represent the company.
Later, the proposal page offers Resend the signed file to followed by the signer’s name: the file’s email goes back to the address used to sign, never to the reader’s.

Read a decline
The prospect can choose Decline this proposal, with an optional Reason and name, then Send this signal. Find this decline, its date and its reason on the dashboard (Decline received signal) and in the proposal’s Analytics.
Then decide on the commercial next step: a new discussion, a new proposal or closing the deal as declined. The client’s decline does not record the outcome automatically and does not, on its own, prevent reading or a later acceptance under the access rules in force.

View the signed file
Once the proposal is signed, the Signature stage shows Signed, the Signed document card and the Evidence file. The file keeps the following elements:
| Element | What Cuevr records |
|---|---|
| Consent | Explicit acceptance and the text accepted; its version is identified from the stored text. |
| Verified address | Verification by code or by a recent invitation session for that same address, date and verification reference. |
| Accepted document | Published version linked to the acceptance and its SHA-256 fingerprint. This is not the fingerprint of the PDF. |
| Signed options | Options selected by the signer, quote totals and their fingerprint. |
| Signer and context | Name, email, job title and company as declared, server date, IP address, browser and time zone when available. |
| Mark | The typed or drawn mark, if the signer added one. |
| Sender | Your organization’s identity as it was at publication. |
| Access | The signer’s personal link to their file. |
The Electronic acceptance certificate gathers these elements, with a file reference, the timeline and, as an appendix, the accepted proposal with the options selected. The fingerprint lets you compare the content with the recorded value; on its own, it is not an independent seal. The server date is not a qualified timestamp.
The signed file opens only through the signer’s personal link, or from Cuevr for your team; the proposal’s sharing link does not open it. The personal link always points to their signed version, even when the deal changes afterwards.
A signed proposal cannot be deleted, only archived. Signed files and their PDFs are part of the Export my data archive.

Download the archived PDF
After each signature, Cuevr archives the signed file (the certificate, then the signed proposal) as a PDF, with its SHA-256 fingerprint.
- The signer opens it through their personal link: the archiving date, the SHA-256 fingerprint to copy and Download the archived PDF. The signed file’s email announces it to them.
- Your team finds it in the Signature stage, Archived PDF card, with Download the archived PDF. While it is being prepared, the screen updates by itself. If preparation fails, Run again prepares a new PDF.
The PDF contains no cryptographic signature; the proof is kept in Cuevr’s file. The file can also be printed from the browser with Print / Save as PDF.

Revoke to reopen the proposal
In the Share panel, choose Unlock (revokes the proof), then confirm with Yes, revoke the proof. This action is reserved for the organization’s owner and admins. The acceptance is no longer active, the proposal can be republished and accepted again, and the evidence file stays in the history.
The product reminds you that this technical revocation alone does not cancel the contractual commitment. It must not be used as a substitute for a contractual procedure agreed with the client. After reopening, also check the deal’s commercial outcome: it is separate from the acceptance.
